Eat, Drink and Be Merry

It’s that time of year. For some, there will be cheers of celebration. For others, a sigh of great relief as the final gift is unwrapped and the last relative leaves for yet another year. Conscious of it or not, most of us love to indulge in the richness of the holiday season. Our longing for holiday cheer consumes us – the music, the decorations, family gatherings, and most importantly the FOOD.

Unlike any other time during the calendar year, food now takes on multiple roles, not only nourishing our bodies but also our souls. The things we eat become desirable, intoxicating, almost addicting if you think about it. So we ask ourselves, what makes the food of this season so enjoyable? Why does food nurture the soul? How do we use food in an effort to comfort our emotions?

With cheerful grins and food on the brain, Don and I have cooked up for you, Dear Listener, our latest podcast titled, “Eat, Drink, and Be Merry.” Turn on your egg timer, step away from the stove, and listen as we introduce three movies where food is the star of the film. These movies will not only make your bellies rumble with anticipation, but they will also accentuate the symbolism of food and how it can serve a much deeper and delicious meaning.

Happy Holidays everyone!
