A Systems Approach: James Anderson
PPA welcomes James Anderson to our team. James is a therapist who is ready to start working with you or a loved one on the road to success. He uses a systems approach to therapy and is hopeful of how he can support you in reaching your goals.
In order to get to know James better, we've asked him a few questions. You can read his answers, below.
What makes you smile? Why?
My kids. Rain or shine, sun up or sundown there’s nothing so negative that can outlast a two year old giggling while she pretends you’re a dinosaur chasing her around the living room. My five month old son thinks his own farts and burps are the funniest thing on the planet, and they might possibly be.
What was the most interesting place you have traveled? Why?
Rome. To see and experience the places that have stood for so long through so much really puts your own existence into perspective.
What was the funniest thing you have ever experienced?
When my daughter was around 18 months or so, she was sitting at our kitchen peninsula across from me while I was cooking. I was slicing vegetables, explaining everything I did as I did it, listening to her talk- not english but in her own language as kids her age do. I put down my knife and joked, “You talking trash?” She turned to me, smiled, and emphatically bellowed, “YESSSSSSSSS!”
What was your latest binge-watch show?
Breaking Bad.
How do you build trust in clients?
By being honest, real, and present. You don’t talk your way into trust, you earn it.
What is your favorite childhood memory? Why?
Playing putt-putt every weekend with my grandfather around 6 or 7. No matter what the week entailed, I always had Saturdays with him to look forward to.
