Nicole Brown is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), with over 8 years experience counseling children, adolescents, and families in a variety of settings. Nicole obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Gannon University in 2007, and stayed at Gannon University for her Master’s degree in School and Professional Counseling in 2010.
Nicole’s clinical experience has included working in a variety of settings such as behavioral health rehabilitative services (BHRS) and outpatient community mental health services. In her previous work, she held the titles of therapist, Clinical Supervisor, behavior specialist consultant (BSC), and mobile therapist (MT). Nicole currently works with Value Behavioral Health (VBH) where she investigates serious incidents such as suicide and other incidents as reported by consumers. Through these roles Nicole has gained experience mentoring and coaching other therapists and has experience working with a variety of diagnoses and life concerns including; communication problems, obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety, depression, Autism, ADHD, ODD, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, self esteem issues, social skills, and stress management.
Nicole uses a variety of counseling modalities in her work including (but not limited to); Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Nicole works with her clients by assisting them in identifying their short term and long term goals, and then by identifying appropriate tools and techniques to utilize based on the clients individual strengths.
