LPC, NCC, MA, MS
If you are someone who often feels unseen, misunderstood, or “too much” for the spaces they’re in—whether at home or work— together, we can create a space where your full experience is honored, helping you reconnect with your sense of worth, presence, and belonging. Clients that tend to come to me are often experiencing:
- Feeling “othered,” different, or out of place
- Feel worried, stuck or unhappy in their relationships
- Feel unappreciated or undervalued at work
- Struggling to stay in the present, and find themselves reaching for comfort in things that no longer serve them (endless scrolling, social isolation, or other forms of anesthetizing the pain).
What process will we use to find answers?
- Staying grounded in the present
- Developing and using coping strategies that support you
- Challenging negative self-talk and learning to offer yourself grace
Professional Experience
My professional background spans a wide range of therapeutic settings—including inpatient care, mobile therapy, substance use treatment facilities, and private practice at The Rooted Way.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 15 years teaching as a college instructor at institutions such as Miami University, the University of Cincinnati, and the University of Pittsburgh. I taught English Writing, Public Relations, and Communication—and I bring that knowledge into my clinical work. This might mean incorporating useful psychological and communication tools or recommending insightful reading if that’s something you enjoy. I believe in the power of “name it, to tame it.”
Education & Licensure
I hold a Master’s degree from Duquesne University, where I specialized in Marriage and Family Therapy. I enjoy working with couples who want to strengthen their connection and improve communication.
With a Masters Degree from Miami University and an undergraduate degree in Communication from West Virginia Wesleyan College, I learned how clear, intentional communication can resolve even the most difficult conflicts. This foundation helps me guide clients toward improved listening, assertiveness, and self-awareness. I enjoy working with clients to better understand their relationships and how to maximize their happiness within them.
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor experienced in supporting adolescents, individuals, and couples. My areas of specialization include:
- ADHD
- Anxiety and depression
- Substance use and recovery
- Parent/child relationship dynamics
- Career counseling
- Life transition difficulty (situations like empty nest, retirement, parenting stress, etc.)
- Communication & conflict in relationships
Approach & Expertise
I tailor therapy to meet your individual needs, using a range of evidence-based modalities. I also believe in the power of movement and exercise as part of a holistic approach to wellness. Sessions are available in-person, via telehealth, or through a hybrid model—whatever fits best with your life. If you do decide to see me via telehealth, there’s a strong chance you may see my corgi, Macaroon.

Insurance

- Anthem
- Cigna
- Highmark
- United / Optum
- UPMC
