Whether you’re ready to make a change, or you need someone to hold space for you while you figure out the conditions needed to do so, I would be grateful to assist you on your journey to improved mental health. Feeling like one can be their authentic and genuine self is key to getting to the root of what may be causing concerns like anxiety and depression—and I aim to create a space so this discovery may occur.
As a graduate from Duquesne University, with a focus in Marriage and Family Therapy, I have worked in a variety of settings-including inpatient, mobile therapy, and at substance abuse facilities. I’m a Nationally Certified Counselor who is comfortable working with a variety of individuals, families, and adolescents. I specialize in helping those experiencing anxiety, depression, substance abuse, parent/child relational concerns, career changes, and relational communication issues.
At West Virginia Wesleyan College, I majored in Communication and realized that most situations can be ameliorated with a clear, organized message that considers one’s audience. This education allowed me to become proficient at helping others manage conflict, improve listening skills, increase assertiveness, and enhance self-awareness.
As a West Virginia native, I think I’ve finally made the adjustment to living in the big city of Pittsburgh after 11 years! Formally a college instructor, I taught English Writing, and Communication at a variety of institutions like Miami University, University of Cincinnati & University of Pittsburgh.
I believe in the importance of exercise on health and wellness, and utilize a variety of therapy modalities-depending on the client's needs-including, but not limited to Family Systems, Structural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Person Centered Therapy, & Solution Focused.
Please allow me to support you in a safe, supportive environment where we work together to help you reach your goals!
