MS, NCC, LPC
My goal is to meet you where you are and walk with you to explore your personal desires, aspirations, hopes, and purpose. Life can be complicated, and it is sometimes difficult to balance when we are faced with an unexpected crisis or dealing with the stress of daily life. Working in private practice and community mental health has provided me with 30 years of experience dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, interpersonal conflict, work issues, parenting, and sexuality, including LGBT issues. Providing support, guidance, and education to those who I have talked with has been proven to me that positive change is attainable even in the most difficult situations.
When describing myself, I identify as a citizen of the world open to and respectful of the differences in others. Traveling to locations including Tibet, Nepal, Thailand, Mongolia, and more, has made it clear to me that there is more we have in common with each other as people than there are differences. I have a humanistic approach to my practice and to life in general, and I utilize cognitive behavioral techniques and mindfulness to facilitate growth. My education includes an undergraduate degree from Kent State University and a graduate degree in Counseling Psychology from Chatham University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I am board certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors.
