“The journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.” Laozi

Have you ever been stuck in a place where you felt that you had so much you needed to work on or wanted to accomplish but you didn’t know where to begin? Have you ever been fearful to take that first step because of the fear of the unknown or fear of rejection? Or is the past too overwhelming and you feel that you can never escape it? If you have ever thought any of these things, I would be happy to walk along side you while you take that first step. It may be overwhelming to start the journey but the reward at the end is well worth the hard work that you will put in throughout the counseling process.

Born and raised in a suburb of Pittsburgh, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Thiel College in 2006 and completed my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Seton Hill University in 2008. Throughout my career, I have worked with many different populations and gained diverse experience.  Over the past 16 years, I have worked in many different treatment settings, from substance abuse, to assisting prenatal and postpartum individuals throughout the pregnancy journey and providing crisis intervention to individuals in need of support. My passion is people and helping them to reach their happiest most genuine self.

I think that trust in any relationship is so important, and I also think that it is something to be earned. A lot of times people have experienced past relationships that have lacked trust and that can make it difficult to open up in future relationships. I think it is important to remember this when working with individuals.  I will meet you where you are at, provide consistent and reliable services while providing encouragement and support. My therapeutic technique matches my view on people. I believe that all people are individual and unique and my therapeutic style is client-centered- solution focused approach. In counseling sessions I will often use CBT techniques to help identify cognitive distortions regarding self and help one to develop a positive self-confident outlook. I specialize in working with people who have a history of substance abuse, anxiety and depression. I would love to work with you to help you to achieve your best self.
